Like the majority of the churches that the Nazarenes were to open in Trinidad, the Sangre Grande Church of the Nazarene began with a Sunday School Ministry. Classes started on June 1st 1956. Regular preaching services in the community officially began on August 1st 1956. Much of the groundwork in building up the Nazarene ministry in Sangre Grande emanated from the Caribbean Nazarene College.
