INTRODUCTION
The Petit Valley Church of the Nazarene is holiness oriented, fellowship practicing, bible believing community organization founded from the Fellowship of Believers in the year 1992. It is a well established, faithful congregation of believers whose old fashion values have not prevented us from embracing the modern technologies of the current age. Our leadership under the capable headship of the Reverend Arnold Hugh Mc Kenzie, a stalwart and former District Superintendent and his wife the Rev Una Mc Kenzie a former student and teacher at the Nazarene Theological College have over the years cultivated a strong and enduring culture based on that good "old time religion" that we all grew up on and so desperately need again today. The youth who make up the Sunday school department are the life blood of the church, who are a multi talented set of ‘fire brands ‘ that only want a place to become... The many other departments maintain a diverse program of activities that supports the various ministries of the church and makes the Petit Valley Church a unique experience in a world of changing values.
The current building program of the church is the focus of our energies as with the quest for excellence we have had to move from our home at # 6, Morne Coco Road, Petit Valley to make way for a bigger, more modern facility to accommodate the anticipated harvest of hungry souls from in and around our neighborhood. Approximately five years ago we stepped out in faith and moved our Sunday fellowship to the St James Church of the Nazarene, where we are still to date. Although our plans are to relocate to our permanent home as soon as possible, we have been faced with an uphill task of rising costs of material and labor way beyond our anticipated estimates.
The mission of our church is “To present the biblical message of holiness through worship, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism and service in the power of the Holy Spirit.” While the vision is “The Petit Valley Church of the Nazarene will be a beacon of hope in Christ, demonstrating through all of its ministries Holy Living, Christian Fellowship and Personal Evangelism”. In order to fulfill these two statements it is imperative that our building program is executed with precision and excellence. |
