Senior Pastors Dr. Lealand Henry (Nazarene Worship Centre) and Rev. Kwame Payne (Dibe Church of the Nazarene) representing the Church of the Nazarene were among the Christian Leaders invited to meet with the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago for Afternoon Tea in celebration of Easter on Thursday 24th April, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. at the Diplomatic Centre, La Fantaisie Road, St. Ann’s Port of Spain.


Christian Leaders took the opportunity to remind the Prime Minister, several Senior Government Ministers, invited Guests (Roman Catholic, Anglican / Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Spiritual Baptist, Pentecostal / Evangelical Leaders, and the Prime Minister’s Staff) of the significance of the Resurrection, including the Hope of a brighter future for those who place their faith in GOD.


In her Feature Address Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar spoke of her delight at being able to host her first Easter meeting with the Christian Leaders in Trinidad and Tobago.  The Prime Minister, a Hindu who also has roots in the Spiritual Baptist & Presbyterian Churches, reminded those in attendance of her government’s material and financial support of several Christian denominations, and of the mutual collaboration between her government and the Christian Churches especially in the area of Education.
