Located on the outskirts of Port of Spain, the Cocorite Church of the Nazarene provides a place of refuge and worship for persons living West Trinidad.
For more that 15 years before 1982, Nazarenes mainly from the St James Church had conducted a Sunday School in the community of Cocorite. This Sunday School was located in the community of Cocorite.
This Sunday School was located in Harding Place in Cocorite, which is in the Northwestern end of Trinidad. After a while the responsibility for Cocorite shifted from St James to the District. By 1982 Cocorite was organized into a full church with 12 charter members. Pastor Jennifer Thom accepted the appointment to be the first pastor to lead the newly organized church of the Nazarene in Cocorite.
