Caribbean Nazarenes Shine at General Assembly The Church of the Nazarene General Assembly held in Orlando Florida this past week has not only been exceptional for the thousands of people who crossed thousands of miles to celebrate our church's legacy with thousands of other Nazarenes, but it was a historical moment for the Caribbean Nazarenes. For the first time in History, our Caribbean NMI Representative Rev Jennifer Brown was elected to the post of Global Missions President for the Church of the Nazarene. This is the first time that someone outside of the United States and Canada was elected. As a result, our very own Missions President Minister Donnamie Ali was elected to the post of Caribbean Respresentative for the General NMI Council. To add to the good news, one of our expected facilitators for this year's Holiness Summit, Dr. Stan Toler, was elected as one of our six General Superintendents. The former facilitator for John Maxwell's Injoy Ministries, visited our shores last year for a leadership training seminar which was held at the Caribbean Nazarene College. He was elected alongside David W Graves and Eugenio Duarte (1st non-American/Canadian) as the Church's new General Superintendents. |
