Caribbean Nazarenes Shine at General Assembly

The Church of the Nazarene General Assembly held in Orlando Florida this past week has not only been exceptional for the thousands of people who crossed thousands of miles to celebrate our church's legacy with thousands of other Nazarenes, but it was a historical moment for the Caribbean Nazarenes.

For the first time in History, our Caribbean NMI Representative Rev Jennifer Brown was elected to the post of Global Missions President for the Church of the Nazarene. This is the first time that someone outside of the United States and Canada was elected. As a result, our very own Missions President Minister Donnamie Ali was elected to the post of Caribbean Respresentative for the General NMI Council.

To add to the good news, one of our expected facilitators for this year's Holiness Summit, Dr. Stan Toler, was elected as one of our six General Superintendents. The former facilitator for John Maxwell's Injoy Ministries, visited our shores last year for a leadership training seminar which was held at the Caribbean Nazarene College. He was elected alongside David W Graves and Eugenio Duarte (1st non-American/Canadian) as the Church's new General Superintendents.

Holiness Convention 2009

"The Heavens Praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones." Psalm 89:5

All praise an honour belongs to God who allowed us to have a very successful Holiness Conevntion 2009. This year's Convention was held on April 26th at the Center of Excellence and generated a crowd of over 2000 passionate Nazarenes who were hungry for God.

This year our District Superintendent Rev Victor George delivered a powerful holiness message that challenged us to live for God. Special thanks to Event Chairman Rev Dr. Lealand Henry and all supporting Ministers.

The District Assembly Webiste was officially launched during the convention and Music Minister Russell Leonce recieved a special award from the District NYI Department.

The St James Church of the Nazarene was the venue chosen for the District Assembly, which was held the day before. One major highlight of the Assembly, which was presided over by the Field Strategy Coordinator for the English Speaking Caribbean Dr. Scoffield Eversley, was the election of the new District Advisory Board.
